Zohran Mamdani Pledges a 'Dawn' for New York City in Inaugural Address
During an first day in the mayor's office, Zohran Mamdani committed to “reimagine” the metropolis, promising “a new era” and an bold beginning to his term.

As his work begins, Mamdani and his wife will relocate from their Astoria apartment to the stately Gracie Mansion. The previous occupant offered a unusual piece of advice about a reputed resident spirit in the home, which allegedly only haunts those who fail to “do right by the city.”
Mamdani ended his speech with a direct statement: “The work has only just begun.”
